As any school counselor knows, the incidence of anxiety disorders among our children has risen to epidemic proportions.  This webinar will explore the rise itself, some of the possible factors that have caused such an increase in recent years, some of the treatments and some possible avenues for schools to help deal with this critical mental health crisis.  The webinar will be as interactive as possible as we seek to share our experiences, our common wisdom, and our successes.

About our guest speakers

Josh Levisohn, Ph.D., currently an educational consultant with EduCannon Consulting, was a Head of School at Berman Hebrew Academy in greater Washington, D.C. for 12 years until last June.  His interest in anxiety among day school children was borne from his experiences as Head of School and as the husband of Lisi, a practicing child psychologist.  Levisohn published an introductory call to action about anxiety in day schools in eJewishPhilanthropy.

Carly Namdar, MS Ed, CSP, is currently the Director of Middle School Guidance at HALB Middle School in Woodmere, New York.  As a school psychologist, Carly has worked within the Jewish educational community for the last nine years, teaching and coordinating social-emotional learning, delivering and coordinating programming for school communities, and implementing counseling and interventions to address students' social, emotional, and academic needs. Carly is a psychologist at Camp Kaylie in the summer, and is currently a UJA fellow and doctoral candidate at Azrieli’s Graduate School of Jewish Educational Leadership and Innovation.
