How do small schools transition from the intimacy and excitement of the early years to becoming financially sustainable? The authors offer a host of initiatives that they are implementing to try to strengthen their school’s economic footing.
Schools with fewer than 150 students are considered "small schools," however, they play a vital role in their local communities and are important building blocks in the structure of modern Jewish education. Small schools offer unique learning opportunities but also face unique challenges, largely due to their demographic locations. Such challenges require creative solutions that mobilize the resources of the broader Jewish communities.
