School Counselor Cohort

Prizmah’s School Counselor Cohort, now in its 5th year, provides a collaborative and supportive professional development experience for school counselors in Jewish day schools and yeshivas.

During nine months of synchronous and asynchronous learning and network building, you will gain the practical tools, research, and knowledge you need to thrive as you support students, faculty, and families, and as you lead the integration of all areas of mental health and wellness in schools. With facilitation from Prizmah experts and presentations from leading researchers and practitioners in the field of mental health, you will have the opportunity to workshop, collaborate, and discuss challenges and leading practices.

How does the School Counselor Cohort work?

Participation in the School Counselor Cohort includes:

  • Twice-monthly online cohort sessions.
    • Learn leading practices with field experts, share ideas and practical tools with other school counselors, and collaborate to address the challenges that you face.
  • Monthly opt-in Peer-to-Peer Supervision opportunities.
    • Gain insight and case guidance from school counselor peers and experts.
  • Twice-annual, Practice to Teach Workshops (PTT).
    • Practice teaching specific psychological skills to faculty and students in your school. With expert mentoring, gain knowledge and skills in implementing teaching practices and strategies in a way that works best for your school setting.
    • This opportunity will allow you to strengthen your own skills and explore best practices in teaching these skills to others.
  • Online Reshet (networking) community.
    • An invitation to participate in an exclusive online discussion forum with School Counselor Cohort participants. This online forum allows you to share, respond to, and post ideas, reflections, and resources in between the twice monthly cohort sessions.
