Prizmah’s School Counselor Tracks 2022 - 2023
This year we are excited to be able to offer three kinds of professional development opportunities for school counselors. Please choose one, two, or all tracks.
For more information, questions or suggestions, please be in touch with Rachel Dratch, Director of Educational Innovation.
School counselors from Jewish day schools and yeshivas across North America will meet twice monthly online to collaborate, support, and engage in all areas of mental health and wellness in schools. In addition to hearing from cutting edge speakers in the field of mental health and sharing truly excellent resources, this cohort serves to support one another through sharing dilemmas of practice.
Cohort participants will also be a part of a closed online reshet (peer-to-peer networking) community and discussion forum for sharing, responding to, and posting ideas, reflections, and resources.
This cohort program, now in its fourth year at Prizmah will be designed and led by field-recognized experts Dr. Rona Novick and Prizmah’s Mrs. Rachel Dratch.
This group will workshop curriculum on social, emotional, and mental health topics. You will create curricular resources, programs, lessons, and school-wide projects that can be applied in multiple ways for varying contexts, ages, situations, and needs. Based on cutting edge research about what works in developing a curriculum about mental health, our facilitators will work with this team to help each counselor enhance their current curriculum and deepen the group's expertise and skills in taking their schools program to the next level.
This intensive collaborative group will meet virtually once a month. You will have the opportunity to collaborate and reflect with other workshop participants as you prepare a unit to share and workshop with them.
This group will be led, designed, and facilitated by field expert Dr. Oshra Cohen and Prizmah’s Rachel Dratch.
School counselors’ participating in any of the other two cohorts, who are eager to stay connected, are invited to join Peer to Peer mentoring.
Special for this esteemed group, we will offer counselors a peer to check in with, and the guidance and support of Dr. Oshra Cohen who can mentor, guide and offer insights when needed.
This program is completely subsidized and requires attendance at sessions and the commitment to write one thought piece for the field about an area of your work.
This group will meet virtually once a month, starting in August and going through May.
